A New Era is Beginning
Well hello anybody out there who steps this way!
I am reviving my blog because I have a lot to share these days. We shall see if I can keep it going better.
There is a whole lot going on in the world, and also in my little corner of it. The world is quite overwhelming so I mostly just scan the headlines to get the gist and try my best to keep up.
On my phone, I currently get breaking news notifications from the BBC and the New York Times (subscriber) at the moment, and the Guardian has a totally free wonderful one minute daily summary called "Got A Minute?" on the phone which pops up as a notification with wry photos and links to full articles if you have more than a minute time to catch up. I trust these sources more than most.
On my computer laptop I read email from the Washington Post (subscribed), the NYTimes (subscribed) the Hill about Washington DC goings on.
On YouTube I am subscribed to the White House, which allows you to watch pressconferences in full, as well as important speeches by our fair leaders.
On YouTube I'm also subscribed to the Saturday Night Live channel which gives me a lot of laughs and serious satire.
In the UK BBC iPlayer , I try to catch The Graham Norton show to see some really great celebrity interviews where they can let their hair down. Both shows offer fantastic live music also.
My Mum and I love to watch the BBC1 6 o'clock (and another chance at 10) news together to keep abreast of the madness. At about 5:15pm our favourite quiz show "Pointless" comes on which keeps our minds sharp and gives a lot of pleasure. The main presenter Alexander Armstrong is intelligent, charming and funny, and he also does other gigs at Classic FM as a DJ on Sundays, and even releases records of himself singing very well - I'm impressed. Pointless is also a great pleasure because of Richard who is the "expert" and knows all the answers. Great teamwork, great rapport and banter.
That's all for now folks.
